This piece represents the way God meets us in our brokenness and lovingly restores the parts of us that feel damaged or lost. The cracks in the woman represent the pain, fear, anger, sadness, and struggles we carry. Rather than hiding those broken places, Jesus fills them with gold—inspired by kintsugi, the art of repairing broken pottery with gold and making the cracks part of its beauty.
For me, this painting represents finding freedom through Christ. God doesn’t erase the difficult parts of our stories; He transforms them. The gold reminds us that our brokenness no longer has to define us. In His hands, even the painful parts of our story can become something beautiful.
This is especially personal to me because, for most of my life, I was an atheist. Coming to faith in Christ has changed the way I see my life and my struggles. I am learning that God’s grace, love, and presence are enough to sustain us, even when relief doesn’t come the way we hope. Our pain and limitations do not prevent God from working—they can become the very places where His strength shines brightest. I am still healing and growing, but I know I no longer have to put the broken pieces back together on my own.
Giclee fine art prints are produced with archival pigment inks on museum-grade papers for artists, photographers, and studios that need color-accurate, gallery-ready reproduction. Frames not included. Acid-free, pH-neutral paper, Inkjet-printed with archival pigment inks.
